Hello!
When not at the North Pole, I live in Port Orange, FL.
I grew up in California and Texas. In 1987 I moved to Orlando with my family. I graduated from Winter Park High School that year.
Home however has always been Louisiana. My parents are from two small towns 10 miles apart on the Atchafalaya river. All my summers and Christmases were spent in Cajun Country.
I am a graduate of UCF and have been working in the Laser and Photonics industry for more than 28 years.
While in collage I photographed weddings and shot for the UCF student newspaper working my way up to Photo Editor. Spending a fair amount of time on the other side of the camera helps a lot when capturing Christmas memories with children and families.
I have been involved with Florida Diabetes Camp for almost 15 years. My wife was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was 3 years old. She started going to camp when she was 5 and never stopped. For 3 weeks a year I spend my days lifeguarding and teaching children to swim. Evenings are spent being everyone’s goofy Uncle and helping out wherever I can.
My wife taught dace at Volusia County public schools for almost 30 years. We met in 1999; married in 2004. Our daughter was born in 2007.
I played Rugby for almost 20 years first at UCF then for a men’s club in Orlando. In 2003 I turned to the dark side and started refereeing. I am still an active rugby union referee.
My wife and I are members of a dance company called Kopy Kats who put on a show every October. We also perform in the Volusia County Civic Ballet’s annual production of the Nutcracker. Occasionally my wife and I perform with local dance schools when they need some adults as living props.
My other interests include martial arts. I had the honor of being awarded my black belt by Great Grandmaster Villari before he passed away. I study Tai Chi as well.
